About Us
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed. It is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead |
Tassie Bound is a Tasmanian adventure kayaking tour business specialising in day tours on the Derwent River and Lake Pedder in South West National Park. It is our passion to showcase Tasmania’s most beautiful and impressive natural settings, reconnecting people with nature and providing an informative and truly memorable outdoor adventure experience.
Tassie Bound strives to leave “tourism” behind and embrace the idea of sharing. We endeavor to unfold all the wonders and unique qualities of the place that we call our home as we believe that the most memorable travel experiences are those that provide an authentic connection to place, nature and people. Our gourmet lunches are sourced from local and state wide produce to ensure that our tour guests sample the quality of Tasmania’s finest food. Whether produce is handpicked straight from our organic vegetable garden or prepared with love at the local Possum Shed, quality is assured with our world class ingredients. |
Community
| As a business and as individuals, we strive to become active participants in our community. Partnering with established local businesses with the vision that our community can benefit from our success, our focus is on reinvesting Tassie Bound’s profits in Tasmania’s adventure tourism sector. Spreading the message of “know no boundaries”, we encourage people to push a little beyond their comfort zone. Tassie Bound also focuses on working with local agencies to mentor and provide adventure based therapy programs to local youth. |
Eco-Policy
| At Tassie Bound, we encourage our guests to come on our kayaking tours with a minimum impact on the environment. We rely on Tasmania’s pristine natural environment; plants, animals and the intricate ecosystems in which we operate represent many benefits to this area and the life that it harbours. The experience of our guests relies on the viewing of native animals in their natural habitat and the experience heightened by enjoying all the flora and fauna our tours have to offer. Biodiversity is extremely important to us, and without these levels of biodiversity, our business would not exist. With this in mind, we are committed to ensuring minimal environmental impact when passing through and enjoying these places. |
